THE LOOK

INTRO

I'm back at the cactus garden for part 2 of my photoshoot with my lovely friend Jessica! While the location is the same, I would say the overall feel is quite different from the first photo shoot, not only because of my clothing choice but also in my poses and facial expressions.

As you can probably tell from the title of this photo shoot as well as the gif of me dancing to the right, I was going for light-hearted, fun, and flirty. Definitely giving more summery vibes compared to the last look.

Also, let's take a moment to appreciate the gif of me dancing quite awkwardly as if I'm a cactus failing its arms from side to side. Do you see the resemblance? I swear I am actually pretty decent at dancing. If you want proof, go check out some of my dance performances here! Hehehe #shamelessplugging

Regardless, I had a lot of fun with this photo shoot as I went out of my comfort zone as I was a little extra with some of my exaggerated poses. I thank Jessica for bringing out this goofy side of me and yay to being more comfortable in my own skin!

THE OUTFIT

When I saw this cacti pattern off-the-shoulder top, I knew that I had to get it. There was something so cute and quirky about this top and the fact that it was off the shoulder made it perfect for the summer!

I also for some reason really identify with cacti. I think I can come off as prickly and awkward at times, but as I grow, my confidence and self-love is blooming like the flowers on a cactus. I also can go for long periods of time without water. You can ask my friends. Any one of them could tell you that I don't drink enough water and that I have this weird habit of waiting until I finish all of my food before drinking any liquids during my meals. #weirdorfunfactaboutme

Anyways, moving on to the shorts. I think the asymmetrical cut and raw hem keeps it fun. I also really like how the rips add texture without having to show any skin underneath.

As for shoes, my tan platform heels once again makes an appearance as it was a neutral color that complimented the look versus black shoes that would come off too harsh/strong.

HAIR

I decided to go with pigtails to match the overall fun and flirty feel. I also like braiding my hair since I really dig how you can see a cool gradient effect because of my dyed ends. Another perk to only bleaching the ends of your hair~

ACCESSORIES

I rocked my gold rim, blue tinted sunglasses to channel the summer vibes. Tbh I am wearing the same silver dangly earrings as my last shoot because I didn't bring another pair. Whoops. It still works with this look since it's thick shape helps it from being lost in the grand scheme of the look but it isn't too much to the point of being distracting or overbearing compared to other parts of the look.

This time around, there aren't any black hair ties on my wrist because I obviously used them to tie my pigtails. Honestly, I sometimes go throughout my day changing my hairstyles multiple times so I always have them. They also come in handy when friends are in need and I got their back. (or hair in this case?)

If you are having trouble figuring out what to wear, I would suggest trying to find inspiration from wherever you're headed to. For example, what a better place to rock my cactus top than at a cactus garden (it was great that I found a cactus that really resembled the cacti on my shirt)! It makes for a cute and playful vibe as you match your surroundings in a subtle way.
