THE LOOK

INTRO

I notice a reoccurring trend where I go to Korea and come back inspired by the fashion and creative scene. The first time I went, I came back with enough confidence to do a photo shoot with my sister. If you know me in real life, you'd know that I often feel awkward in front of the camera and that posing can be a very difficult and awkward process for me.

Somehow despite all of this, I am inspired by Korea once again to start my own fashion blog. I am super stoked to be able to showcase this other (read: model/fashionista) side of me who is still learning to confidently showcase my style and modeling. This photo shoot marks the start of my journey as not only an artist but as someone who is learning to love herself more every single day.

I once again would like to thank family and friends for their support. Special shoutout to JMao for being an amazing and photographer. And of course, my sister Jessica who I never took really seriously when she said that I was talented enough to be a model and that I should start this blog. Thanks for being my cheerleader and teaching me what it's like to fearlessly go after my dreams and confidently have fun as I create to my heart's content.

THE OUTFIT

Wrap skirts are my new obsession. I knew I wanted one when I saw my sister rocking one so I begged her to take me to the underground shopping center that sold wrap skirts for about only ~$10 USD each. Once again I am in awe at how Korean fashion can look so good and still be so cheap. I would not be able to find anything as cute as this in America for such a good price. I like this black wrap skirt with white flower pattern because it's chic and mature. I also love how it moves in the wind whenever I move and I think it's the perfect length for me as it seems to elongate my legs. Be sure to wear some sort of shorts/spandex just in case the wind blows too much and your skirt somehow gets all tangled and whatnot.

When I saw this pink halterish top, I knew I had to have it in my wardrobe. I love the color! It's the perfect shade of pink that is a good mix of girly and classic. It's the kind of top that can go with a lot–wrap skirts, denim shorts, and the list goes on. I also really like the halter neckline that gives the top a feminine and tropical feel. It's perfect for a summer day with its breathable material but you can easily add layers on top when it's getting chillier. If you take a closer look, you can also see the lined texture of the top that I really like.

SHOES

I never knew I needed a pair of Doc Martens in my life until I borrowed my sister's pair (thanks sis!). I think everyone should own a solid pair of black combat boots. I feel so powerful and edgy whenever I have these boots on. I don't just walk in them. I strut in them.

ACCESSORIES

This pair of gold rimmed purple tinted sunglasses is sunglasses #2 of my sunglasses collection of 2. With this look, the sunglasses adds a mysterious vibe that only amplifies the chic aura. I opted silver dangly earrings to once again highlight the element of movement in this outfit since they swish back in forth as I pose and when the wind blows.

Don't be afraid to play with your accessories when you're posing. The classic "what're you looking at" slight peek over your sunglasses is a classic fun pose that comes off as pretty chic and badass. Also try messing around with your hair by flipping it, pushing it out of your face, or putting it behind your ear.
